Hidden Value

Once you have started to use the 1i you will notice that your workflow starts become more streamlined. You will look back and remember the times a probe slipped or you were not sure that you had a good connection and had to preform the measurement again.  The times you had to shift to take a look at your multimeter while measuring an FPC or some small SMD components will be a past time memory.

If you have ever caused damage to a device because you shorted a resistor and capacitor together while taking a look at your meter, you will truly understand what value this can bring to your daily work.

We are continuously adding support for more meters, including serial connected meters.

1i and Glasses Compatibility

In our testing, we found that some glasses users were not able to view the display correctly without moving their head. Specifically glasses with Prisms in them or people suffering from a form of Strabismus. Also if you are legally blind and have a high prescription on your glasses, the 1i may not work as designed for you.

The 1i is designed to work with a Diopter that is attached to the scope head as shown in the picture above. The standard diameter of an ocular where it goes into the microscope head is just under 30mm (Around 29.9X). The 1i Will fit a standard 30mm mount ocular hole.

If you have a standard WF10X/20 Ocular like shown above the GREEN checkmark then you should be good to go!

1i Viewer Software and Compatibility

There are a few important things to note with the 1i Viewer Software. In order for the 1i view to work correctly, the following requirements must be met.

  1. 1 available USB port for data communications
  2. Windows 10 operating system


Support for macOS on intel based system is possible using CoolTerm serial tool. We have made a How To video for setting everything up and there is also further documentation and a customized profile for CoolTerm in the Software and Firmware Update package designed to facilitate easily making an overlay for OBS.


Observation: We have noticed glitches with the official driver in M1 based systems that cause the serial communication to CoolTerm to stop unexpectedly.

  • Where is the 1i made?

    We make and build the 1i in two separate locations. For all USA orders, your 1i is build and assembled here in the USA. For international orders they are build and made in Paraguay.

  • Where is the 1i shipped from?

    The 1i has 2 shipping centers. USA orders ship from Virginia. International orders outside of the USA ship from Paraguay using DHL.

  • Where is your main office?

    We have 2 main offices. The USA office is in Virginia and the other international office is in Paraguay.

  • Do you offer wholesale?

    We do not plan to offer discounts or wholesale pricing.

Troubleshooting

  • My 1i is not connecting to my computer

    The 1i needs a USB connection to your computer to connect. Verify that the micro USB cable you are using is not a "Charging only" cable and works with other micro USB items for data. We have supplied an Anker cable to limit probles caused by a cable. Another common issue is that the Driver has not installed automatically on your computer. You can install this driver to have the COM port show up if that is the issue. 

  • How do I move the text location?

    Usint the special 1i Viewer software, press "Cntrl + Shift + p" to enter programming mode. From here, using the w,a,s,d keys will allow you to move the text locaion in all 4 directions. More instructions about the software are in the "1i Viewer Install Manual and Usage" PDF that you can download above.

  • How do I connect a new Bluetooth meter to my 1i?

    The 1i is shipped un-paired to a meter. It should automatically pair when your meters bluetooth is enabled. If you need to re-pair the 1i with the meter or another meter, hold down the reset button for 5 seconds. For further instruction on the use of the 1i, look over the "1i Viewer Install Manual and Usage" PDF in the link above.

  • How do I reset my 1i to factory settings?

    The 1i can be reset to factory settings using the 1i Viewer sotware, entering programming mode and typing in "Y". You will then need to unplug and replug your 1i and restart the software.

  • How do I update my 1i firmware?

    We have step by step instructions on how to update your 1i firmware in the "How to update your 1i "PDF file above.
